About Dominic Trumfio
Dominic Trumfio Musician Chicago based musician Dominic Trumfio's multi-faceted career has made him well known within a variety of musical circles. As a woodwind multi-instrumentalist performing on flute, saxophone, clarinet, recorders, pennywhistles, and various other ethnic woodwinds, he has been active in the both the local and national musical theater scene and other freelance circles since 1997. As a keyboardist and choral conductor he has been at the helm of some of Chicagoland's finest church music programs for over 20 years.

To begin his professional career Dominic spent three years with the national touring company of LES MISÉRABLES. During this time he had the honor of performing the show in Shanghai, China, for its Asian premiere. This acclaimed production and international state event featured Colm Wilkinson, the original Jean Valjean from the Broadway production.

After returning to Chicago, Dominic has been an active local theater musician performing in productions for Broadway in Chicago and the area's nationally recognized, award winning regional theaters. Some of his favorite recent performances include: the Jeff Award winning (Best Large Musical) production of RAGTIME at the Marriott Theatre, Chicago's premiere of LOVE NEVER DIES, the Phantom of the Opera sequel at the Cadillac Palace Theater (Broadway in Chicago), the Pre-Broadway run of WAR PAINT starring Patti Lupone and Christine Ebersole at Chicago's Goodman Theater. Other notable productions and performances include SWEENEY TODD at the Paramount Theater, WONDERFUL TOWN and Rachel Rockwell's award winning production of BRIGADOON at the Goodman Theater, the nationally broadcast PBS special A CHRISTMAS CAROL - THE CONCERT, the Broadway in Chicago runs of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, PIPPIN, CINDERELLA, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, and the 25th Anniversary Production of LES MISÉRABLES. He also performed for the origination of the SHREK THE MUSICAL national tour at the Cadillac Palace Theater, MICHAEL CRAWFORD IN CONCERT for the grand re-opening of the LaSalle Bank Theater (now CIBC), the premiere and original cast recording of Stephen Flaherty's musical LOVING REPEATING for About Face Theater at Chicago's MCA, and the world-premieres of NOW AND FOREVER - THE MUSIC OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER and THE BOWERY BOYS at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire.

As church musician, Dominic is currently the Associate Director of Music at Old St. Patrick's Church in Chicago. Other notable posts have included Assistant Director for Voices of Faith at St. Thomas the Apostle in Naperville, IL, Music Director and Coordinator for the Bernardin Center for Theology and Ministry at Catholic Theological Union, Chicago (CTU). He has also served as full-time Music Director at Old St. Patrick's Church, Chicago and St. Raymond de Penafort Church, Mt. Prospect.

Dominic is also a performing artist, clinician and editor for GIA Publications, Inc., North America's preeminent publisher of Roman Catholic church music. As part of his association with GIA he has been a featured performer on many of their liturgical music albums, demo recordings, and in 2009 released a solo recording entitled The Image and the Hope. He was also a member of the editing team for Gather-Third Edition, currently the best selling hymnal in North America. An active workshop presenter, Dominic has presented workshops for both the National Flute Association (NFA) and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM).

Dominic holds a music performance degree from Northwestern University with secondary study in church music and liturgy. He is also a certified yoga teacher having completed his 200-hr yoga teacher training certification through Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago. He currently resides in Chicago with his husband and adorable cat Clementine.
